Daniel Knaggs: Two Streams

The American Organist Review

Daniel Knaggs: Two Streams

Knaggs’s score is a welcome addition to the choral repertory, and this recording is worthy of repeated listening. It is highly recommended.

The most striking feature of Two Streams is its musical eclecticism…Knaggs’s well-composed score is refreshing and accessible to the average listener. Harmonies are mostly Neoromantic, while at other times more complex, and Knaggs generally opts for metric simplicity and homophonic choral textures. The choir is excellent, the instrumentalists are superb, and Simpson has enlisted fine soloists. Knaggs’s score is a welcome addition to the choral repertory, and this recording is worthy of repeated listening. It is highly recommended.
