I find that Pärt’s music for Byzantine worship makes a harmonious addition to a liturgy using the traditional chants. I have admired Lingas’s work with his Cappella Romana as far back as Fanfare 32:2. I find that Pärt is an especially agreeable contemporary composer for the Byzantine liturgy, and that brings a high recommendation to this new issue.
